Andrés “Andy” Hernández

Andy Hernandez is EVP and Director of Channel Development for BBVA Compass in Birmingham, Alabama, a subsidiary of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), based in Madrid. In this capacity he has responsibility for online, mobile, ATM and telephone channels in the retail bank. In addition, he is responsible for payment operations; specifically debit cards, credit cards and merchant financial services.Mr. Hernandez has over 20 years experience in financial services. He held various roles at Wachovia Bank (and the former SouthTrust Bank), most notably COO of Distribution in Wachovia’s General Banking Group. At Bank of America he held leadership roles in eCommerce, specifically in online payments and online deposits. He started his banking career in ATM sales with NCR Corporation.Mr. Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Florida.
