Leland Englebardt is Group Head, Network Solutions at MasterCard.� In this role, he leads the team responsible for business management of MasterCard�s global switching platforms for credit, debit and prepaid products.� The MasterCard Network switches more than 34 billion transactions per year, in 150 currencies, initiated with MasterCard, Maestro and Cirrus-branded cards in 210 countries and territories worldwide.�Previously, Mr. Englebardt was responsible for MasterCard�s global ATM business and represented the Global Network Products business unit to MasterCard�s North America regional management.������In 2011 and 2012, Mr. Englebardt was issued US patents for payment card and network innovations.� Mr. Englebardt also invented the MasterCard Debit Hologram, which is required to appear on all Debit MasterCard cards issued in the United States.�Mr. Englebardt joined MasterCard in 1997 as vice president, Franchise Management Rules, Standards & Strategy.� In that capacity, he was responsible for creation, development and communication of global rules and standards for all MasterCard credit and debit brands.�Mr. Englebardt also represents MasterCard on international organizations and committees.Prior to joining MasterCard, Mr. Englebardt was a partner in Strategy Associates, a New York-based consulting firm providing strategic counsel to directors and executive officers of international corporations.� Mr. Englebardt began his career as an attorney in private practice in Connecticut, specializing in litigation and serving as Assistant Town Attorney for Westport, Connecticut.� He is the author of two books on legal subjects.Mr. Englebardt received a BA degree from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.� He also holds a JD degree from Boston College Law School, an MBA degree from New York University�s Stern School of Business, and a certificate in management from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.��
