Mike Dougherty is the Managing Partner of the Philadelphia office practicing in Consumer Collections, with a focus on the Consumer Collections (General), Corporate & Financial Services, Credit Union, Healthcare, Collateral Recovery/Replevin, Student Loan, Subrogation, Litigation & Defense, Consumer Finance Litigation, Real Estate Default and Federal Court Litigation Groups.Mike earned his B.S. cum laude in Political Science and History from Blackburn College in 1990 and his J.D. from the Widener University School of Law in 1995. A member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Mike is licensed in the State Courts of Pennsylvania and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court (Eastern District of Pennsylvania) and the U.S. Court of Appeals (Third Circuit).In addition, he has been admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, South Carolina and New York. He is also a member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. During the course of his career, Mike has litigated for his clients cases ranging from commercial disputes, catastrophic motor vehicle defense matters, employment discrimination, fraud, workers’ compensation, unemployment compensation, social security, unfair trade practices, products liability, premises liability, liquor liability and medical malpractice actions. In addition, he has written for numerous trade publications including the NASP Subrogator and National Law List. Recently, Mike has spent a considerable amount of his time presenting to and consulting with various national banks, credit unions and trade associations on compliance issues related to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In addition to meeting with these banks and trade organizations, he has written numerous articles about how to manage third party vendor relationships and maintain compliance with the regulatory requirements of the Bureau.
