MidCountry Bank � Senior Vice President, Director of Marketing, also has responsibility for the Bank�s insurance agency (Insurance Planners, Inc.) and the sale of 401ks and other investment products through the bank�s subsidiary, MidCountry Investments, Inc.With a BSB from the University of Minnesota in Accounting, Roberts worked for financial institutions as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Assistant Controller, Investment Manager and Strategic Planning Manager. He then joined the first start-up bank in Minnesota in 50 years while in its formation stage and rose to SVP-Retail Banking & Operations over a 10-year period building 12 branches and growing the bank to over $1 billion in assets.He accepted the position of President of a local $50 million bank and improved operations and its financial condition for 2 years and then co-founded a new bank in the Twin Cities, as its chairman, president and CEO, that grew to over $80 million in assets when it was sold to MidCountry Financial Corp., becoming its first bank of which others were purchased and consolidated.Roberts has been active in various community activities including as a Board member of the American Cancer Society-Hennepin Division, for ten years, leading the Special Events Committee, Fundraising Committee and then acting as Treasurer. In addition, he was in leadership positions at his church culminating as President of the Church Council. Today, he is the Minnesota Chair of Sales & Marketing Executives International, a non-profit organization targeting senior management in sales and marketing building a passion for the profession while offering certification programs in: professional sales, sales management, and marketing. He was recently named the international Marketing Chair of SMEI.
