BEHAVIORAL FINANCE IN ACTION: A TALE OF TWO MINDS AND TWO GENDERS? CE CREDIT AVAILABLE
At the heart of behavioral finance is the idea of the “two minds” – a framework that helps us understand how people make decisions. Each of us behaves as if we have an “intuitive mind” and a “reflective mind,” and this has practical implications for how financial advisors work with clients. In this session, we will examine this fundamental concept, and look at related topics like loss aversion, dealing with lack of investor discipline and negotiating habits. We’ll also consider the role gender plays – or doesn’t play – in all of this.
