Seminar idea
??? What do you think about this idea ????

I was thinking about having seminars with the topics, like Investing, LTCI, FP, etc.

I thought about having these seminars at 1 or 2 restaurants on Saturday mornings.

In my city there are at least a couple of non-chain restaurants that have a very big crowd of older people for breakfast. I would like to give them a sales presentation/seminar at the breakfast.
I would pay for a light breakfast for attendees.

Publicity would only be a sign in the restaurant.

I would have a private room for around 20 people.

I would expect to pay for light breakfast but no other expenses.

There would be no mail-out invitations.

I would save by not mailing out large amounts of postcards with very low response.

I spent a lot of money on mail-out invitations before with very poor success.

I think the audience is the right demographics.

Rocket - Hope it works for you. An old saying in marketing - "Whatever you work works, whatever you don't work don't work." Unfortunately, my experience has been that everything I do works some, but nothing I've done was enough by itself. But over time, seminars have been successful for me too - even, or especially, small group presentations - small enough for the audience to participate in a "conversational" seminar with questions and stories a key component. I'm sure you already know of your requirements for advertising and content and attendees to be approved and monitored by your BD (if you're FINRA rep) and I'm sure you know that FINRA, the SEC, and the states are focused on ALL seminar marketing, especially to seniors, especially with meal deals. Unfortunately for the true professionals among us, seminars ARE a primary tool of shisters and predators too and are under strict scrutiny right now. Anyway, best of luck. And report back!! =)
