Women planners intrinsically understand how to listen, nurture and build relationships and networks. These are core skills of successful planners, according to Ann Hughes, opening speaker at the Women Advisors Forum in Dallas in May. A national sales manager at ING's annuities business, Hughes now runs her own planning firm in Dallas, the Female Affect. Her emphasis is on "affecting" change in clients and for other planners.

"Women need to say to the world: 'This is what I am good at. This is what I ... can do for you. And this is what I am worth,' " Hughes told a full house of women advisors in Dallas.

Speakers in Boston will share strategies for building sales IQ and taking advantage of social media. As always, attendees will have the opportunity to rub elbows with elite women planners.
