The news was first reported by the Wall Street Journal on Friday. More details on Cox’s future plans were not immediately available. A successor for his role at Barclays has not been named. In the interim, those duties will be filled by Thomas Kalaris, who is the chief executive of Barclays wealth and investment management division.
Cox had served in his role at Barclays since 2009. He joined the firm from Merrill Lynch, where he had served since 1997 and led the global investment solutions group within Global Wealth Management, among other roles. Before that, Cox served at Bankers Trust Company’s private bank and at Skadden Arps as an attorney.
