Baltimore-based T. Rowe Price Group has named a former Fidelity senior official as its new head of global institutional services.

Robert Higginbotham will lead the firm's business development and client management operations on the institutional side around the globe. He will start with the firm on Oct. 1, and will be based out of London and keep an office in Baltimore. Higginbotham succeeds Todd Ruppert, who retired from T. Rowe Price in June after 27 years with the firm.

Higginbotham left Fidelity Worldwide Investment more than a year ago, and had been out of the business ever since. At Fidelity World he held in several senior leadership roles, most recently as CEO for the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and Latin America regions.
