Hilliard Lyons has bolstered its headcount in South Carolina with the addition of Donald C. McDonald and Carol Carson, formerly of Scott and Stringfellow, a Richmond, Va.-based division of BB&T Securities.

The two industry veterans join as vice presidents in Greenville, S.C. They have extensive experience between them and previously managed $175 million. McDonald began his financial services career in 1983 and Carson in 1999, according to public records filed with the financial industry regulatory authority.

The Louisville, Ky.-based firm currently has around 400 advisors who fill 70 branches in 12 states.
