Neuberger Berman, an investment management firm with over $200 billion in assets, appointed Brian Layton senior vice president and head of its Boston-based wealth management group.

“I found Neuberger Berman to be a compelling entity in its 70-year heritage, the collegial partnering culture, and defining success by investment performance for clients,” Layton said. “This will surely resonate with clients that need to fuel their thoughtful financial plans with accountability on the investment management side of the ledger.”

Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in October, Layton was a senior private client wealth advisor at Bernstein Global Wealth Management. In his new role at Neuberger Berman, Layton will focus on providing wealth management services to individuals, family offices, foundations and pension plans.

“Prospective clients and key professionals continue to seek investment advisors that can more nimbly navigate the complex risk and return spectrum in today’s capital markets,” he said. “I look forward to leveraging my background and strong professional network to expand awareness of the Neuberger Berman investment platform and client success experience in this important New England region.”

Neuberger Berman announced the hiring on Wednesday.
