Stifel has recruited teams from Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo to join forces in Stuart, Fla., to open a new Stifel office.

Stifel has hired Robert J. Sander and Christopher R. Lesser from Wells Fargo Advisors and the husband-wife team of Thomas A. and Janet W. Bevan from Morgan Stanley to help expand its presence in the Sunshine State.

Sander and Lesser managed $195 million in client assets at Wells Fargo and have 37 years of combined experience. Sander began his career in 1985 at Merrill Lynch before transitioning to A.G. Edwards in 1986, according to public registration records with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He then moved through successive firms to Wells Fargo in 2008. Lesser had been with A.G. Edwards since 1999.

Thomas and Janet Bevan both began their careers with Dean Witter in 1996 and wound up at Morgan Stanley in 2007 after serving at several firms, according to FINRA records. The two managed $82 million in client assets at Morgan Stanley prior to their joining Stifel.
