Prior to joining Wedbush in July of this year, Huyler had been with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Denver for over two decades, according to regulatory filings with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. According to Long, it was the firm's flat management structure finally drew her away.
"What we look for is someone with a solid track record. We don't like somebody who has worked for 10 firms in the last five years. We like someone who has a very diversified business and doesn't have a negative track record in terms of legal or regulatory issues," Long said. "We want advisors who have multiple clients and within their client base then, they are not relying on one product category for their business."

She was formerly a vice president at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and expects to continue to serve her clients in Colorado and surrounding areas in her new role.
"Hopefully her clients choose to come with her, and we anticipate that, but certainly it's always up to the client. She will continue to serve their needs as a financial advisor," Long said.
Wedbush currently has more than 400 advisors in 100 offices around the country.
