Advisor Group launched Vision2020 Wealth Management on Thursday, a platform with portfolio management and trading tools that aims to help advisors meet their clients’ needs, whether they have fee-based or hybrid business models.

Vision2020 Wealth Management is the second iteration of Advisor Group’s platform for fee-based advisors. It is a web-based service with comprehensive portfolio management and trading tools open to advisors affiliated with the three companies within Advisor Group: FSC Securities, Royal Alliance and SagePoint Financial.

It also gives advisors four unique investment options and a simplified account administration system, according to the company.

“This is an integrated delivery of the research, investment products and business tools any fee-based advisor needs to efficiently and effectively build his or her practice,” Larry Roth president and chief executive officer of Advisor Group said in a statement.

The product seamlessly integrates into advisors’ existing open-architecture technology.

The four investment options are wide-ranging.

The Advisor Managed Portfolio option lets advisors tap into a wide spectrum of investments, to design and implement customized portfolios for their clients. It also includes modeling and trading tools that allow for easy execution, rebalancing and ongoing portfolio management.

Essentially, it lets the advisor to act as the portfolio manager for clients’ assets.

The trading tools let advisors rebalance and trade across all client accounts. It also accommodates conditional, so-called good-to-cancel orders.

Other investment options include unified managed accounts, separately managed accounts and a series of model portfolios from six leading strategists.

Morningstar Associates, a registered investment advisor, has contributed to the menu of investment options. “These broadly diversified, risk-based portfolios are designed for investors at every stage of investing, from growth-oriented global allocations to tax-sensitive income allocations,” according to a statement from Patrick Reinkemeyer, president of Morningstar Associates.

Envestnet, a Chicago-based company that designs solutions for wealth management firms, developed Vision2020, which also includes several key features to make advisors’ lives easier. It allows for in-depth research.
