A former Edward Jones advisor and an already independent wealth manager with a combined $179 million in client assets have opened an independent practice with the Wells Fargo Financial Network, the firm said.

Kurt Heyduck left his post at Edward Jones to join advisor Aaron Lucero, who was already working as an independent with FiNet. They operate as the newly launched Terra Firma Wealth Management in Coupeville, Wash., according to the firm.

Heyduck's move to independence comes after spending more than 15 years with Edward Jones in Coupeville, Wash., according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

Prior to joining the independent side of Wells Fargo in 2012, Lucero worked for Edward Jones, AXA Advisors and Scottrade, where he got his start in the securities industry in 2000, BrokerCheck says.

FiNet recently recruited five advisors from Triad Advisors with a combined $120 million in AUM.
