BNY Mellon Wealth Management continues to ramp up in Florida.
In its latest move to boost its resources there, the firm promoted a portfolio management team leader in Fort Lauderdale to a new role as managing director of portfolio management for the Florida East Region.
Jon Soto will oversee all the portfolio management teams in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Miami and work with his counterparts on Floridas West Coast to further strengthen the firms client satisfaction and retention rates, a BNY Mellon spokesperson said in an email.
Soto has served as portfolio management team leader in Fort Lauderdale since 2012. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, he was senior vice president and managing director at a super-regional bank, where he managed its Miami-Dade County wealth management office, BNY Mellon said in its announcement Monday.

And it plans to keep ramping up. By the end of the year, the firm plans to hire 15 more senior sales professionals, portfolio managers, private bankers and support staff, principally concentrated in Southeast Florida, the firm said.
