Barclays Boosts its Ranks

Barclays Wealth announced on Wednesday that it hired five new Investment Representatives in its Philadelphia, Chicago and Atlanta offices.

“We welcome these highly experienced wealth professionals,” said Mitch Cox, Head of Barclays Wealth, Americas, and Head of Research and Investments globally for the firm, in a press release. "We continue to find that our combination of wealth management experience, business growth, and direct access to the world-class resources of Barclays globally, is a compelling platform for seasoned advisors serving the needs of high net worth individuals and families."

Philadelphia

Rosalie Hunter joins Barclays Wealth as a Managing Director from J.P. Morgan, where she had advised ultra high net worth individuals, multi-generational families and corporate executives as clients of the Private Bank since 2002. She spent 10 years in wealth management at Credit Suisse and its predecessor company Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. She holds an M.B.A. from LaSalle University and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University..

Bill McCormack also joins Barclays Wealth from J.P. Morgan, where he was Senior Investor and Market Team Leader for the Private Bank's Mid-Atlantic Region. Previously, he served as Director of Institutional Sales and Client Service for Gardner Lewis Asset Management. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia, an M.A. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from Princeton University.

Both will report to Scott Sheffer, Regional Manager for Philadelphia.

Chicago

Brian Maddox joins Barclays Wealth as a Managing Director from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, which he first joined in 1986, advising high net worth clients, foundations, family offices as well as pension funds, investment advisors, closed end funds and mutual funds. He holds a B.A. from Drake University.

Michael Schafer joins Barclays Wealth from Goldman Sachs, where he had worked since 2002. He  specialized in advising clients on money market and short duration fixed income investments. He  holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University and a B.S. from the University of Illinois.

Both report to Chris Williams, Regional Manager for Chicago.

Atlanta

Jonathan Pakula joins Barclays Wealth from UBS, which he joined in 2000 as part of its acquisition of Paine Webber. He  holds a B.A. from Washington & Lee University. He reports to Atlanta Regional Manager Linda Eydt.
