Brown Advisory Rolls Out Diversified Large-Cap Fund

Brown Advisory, a Baltimore-based independent investment management group, has launched the Brown Advisory Equity Income Fund under the ticker symbol BIADX.

Brown’s institutional and high-net-worth clients (with more than $5 million in investable assets) with have access to BIADX, which will focus on delivering current income and dividend growth through investments in high-quality companies, according to a statement from Brown Advisory, based in Baltimore. The fund invests at least 80% of the value of its net assets in a diverse equity portfolio, with a focus on larger companies with market capitalizations equal to or more than $1 billion.

Also, the fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in investment grade, and non-investment grade or unrated debt securities that are considered of equal quality to the rated ones.

Michael L. Foss and Brian Graney, both CFAs, are portfolio managers on the new fund, and lead a research team of 18 analysts.
