Capital Investment Cos., a North Carolina brokerage firm, announced Wednesday that IronGate Partners of Wilmington, N.C., has joined its hybrid broker-dealer program.

IronGate, the largest independent wealth advisory firms in Wilmington N.C., opened its doors in 2005, and has a team of 14 advisors managing $200 million in assets.

“IronGate is a terrific addition to the Capital family because they think like we do in terms of innovation, integrity and independence,” Richard K. Bryant, co-founder and president of Capital Investment Companies said in a statement.  “Steve Coggins, David Hartness and Chris Jones run a tight ship at IronGate.  They’re actively managing a fast-growing firm that is dedicated to improving the lives of successful families and companies in the region; as well as throughout the country.”

Jerry Payne, who leads Capital’s hybrid program, will help IronGate transition to their platform. The deal gives IronGate greater structural support, while also allowing them to retain their own operations.

“We are excited to be working with a broker/dealer right here in North Carolina that understands the independent wealth management firm model, and wants to provide us the flexibility to better serve our growing client base,” says Steve Coggins, partner and chief investment officer at IronGate . “We look forward to a long term, win-win relationship with the folks at Capital.”
