$390M Wells Fargo Team Goes Indy

Raymond James has recruited a $390 million team to its independent employee channel, firm says.

Charles Tumlin, Arthur Levin and Hall Sumner had been with Wells Fargo Advisors, where they produced $2.6 million before making the move, Raymond James said. The group had been with the wirehouse since 2008, according FINRA BrokerCheck records.

The trio operates as Tumlin Levin Sumner Wealth Management out of Beaufort, S.C.

“We are pleased to be able to have more control of our practice, while still benefiting from the administrative and technology support provided by Raymond James,” said Tumlin, who started his career in 1992 with A.G. Edwards & Sons, which later became part of Wells Fargo Advisors.

With total client assets of $505 billion, Raymond James has been on a hot streak hiring big-ticket teams from the wirehouses to expand its employee channel. The firm in June landed a $2.4 billion Miami-based team, and in the same month a $655 million group from Morgan Stanley, based in Grand Blanch, Mich.
