Dow, Nasdaq Slump

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 48.59 points Wednesday to close at 12,604.52 while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 shed 14.35 points and 0.02 points, respectively.

In economic news, the Commerce Department reported the U.S. trade deficit narrowed 3.8% in May to $48.7 billion – in line with most economists’ forecasts. Meanwhile, wholesale inventories rose 0.3% in May after jumping 0.6% in April.
