Hancock Enhances Advisor 'Portfolio Insight' Tool

John Hancock Funds has made a number of enhancements to its Portfolio Insight tool for financial advisors, including the ability to compare portfolios side by side and see full transparency into holdings.

In addition, advisers have full access to Morningstar’s database of 8,000 open-end funds, plus commodity and index exchange-traded funds. And a new “fund evaluator” feature helps advisors assess John Hancock’s fund lineup.

“Since the initial launch of Portfolio Insight two years ago, a top priority for us was to get feedback from advisers who do business with us and to make improvements based on what we heard,” said Keith F. Hartstein, president and CEO of John Hancock Funds. “We are committed to providing advisers with valuable tools and resources that will help them do more business, and we have had an overwhelmingly positive response from advisers to Portfolio Insight. They tell us that the tool is simple to use and their clients really appreciate the easy-to-read reports.

“The beauty of Portfolio Insight ‘Compare’ is the ability to input a current model or list of client holdings and then add or subtract funds or otherwise realign the portfolio and see an in-depth comparison of the original and new portfolios side-by-side,” Hartstein continued.

Especially during this time of economic uncertainty, it is essential for advisers to provide their clients with transparency, he said.
