HighTower Adds $400M RIA Team

Hightower has picked up a team on the West Coast, its 43rd team to join the partnership.

Advisors Larry Knudsen and Dan Stober, managing $400 million in assets for both individual and institutional clients, will join HighTower in Bellevue, Wash., as HighTower Bellevue.

Knudsen and Stober previously led Triad Wealth Stewardship, the RIA they founded in 2007, where they offered financial planning, portfolio management and family wealth stewardship services to high-net-worth clients.

The partners said maintaining their independence was a factor in their decision to partner HighTower. Knudsen has spent over twenty years working in the independent space.

"Joining the HighTower partnership allows us to be a boutique firm with institutional strength, instantly scale-up, and leverage a nationwide network of like-minded fiduciary advisors," Knudsen said in a statement announcing the deal.

The grab is part of HighTower's plan to continue expanding its West Coast presence. Earlier this month, HighTower appointed Kimberly Hollenbeck as executive director of business development, effective August 11. In her new role, based in San Diego, she will continue to focus on expanding HighTower's operations on the West Coast.
