$180M Advisory Firm Joins LPL’s Hybrid RIA Platform

Hoyt, Lewis, an independent advisory group with $180 million in client assets, has joined LPL’s hybrid RIA platform, LPL said.

The group, which traces its roots to Waddell & Reed, will provide fee-based services through Financial Advocates Investment Management, which is on LPL’s hybrid RIA platform. CEO Jeremy Lewis and team members Bradley Hoyt, Ben Kohls-Chase and Noelle Seipp operate the firm from Spokane, Wash.

“We believe that the decision to join LPL Financial’s platforms will allow us to enhance and improve our client services,” Lewis said in a statement.

The firm has been registered with LPL’s independent broker-dealer since October when its members left Waddell & Reed, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Lewis worked 14 years at the firm, BrokerCheck records show. Hoyt entered Waddell & Reed in 1982. Kohls-Chase arrived in 2013. Seipp had been with the firm since 2011.

LPL recently recruited three Merrill Lynch advisors: Jeff Kocis, John Kinsella and Richard Rohlfing, who moved their business to the Chicago-based IHT Wealth Management.
