Raymond James Snags $1B Team

Raymond James Financial Services, the firm’s independent channel, has picked up a $1 billion team in Florida.

Raymond James announced today the addition of the Fort Lauderdale-based Provenance Wealth Advisors. Prior to joining Raymond James the Provence team was with Walnut Street Securities where they managed over $1 billion in client assets and had annual fees and commissions of over $5.4 million.

Founded in 2000 by owners Todd Moll, Lee Hediger and Eric Zeitlin, Provence began as an affiliated firm with Berkowitz Pollack Brant, a large South Florida regional CPA and consulting firm.

Today Provenance is an independent firm with 10 advisors and 14 registered associates and has offices in Miami, Boca Raton and Cincinnati. The firm focuses largely on comprehensive financial planning including estate, business and investment planning.

Before moving, the team looked into more than 15 firms across the country, but ultimately felt that Raymond James provided the best combination of technical support and investment capabilities, Moll said in a statement. “Above all, we appreciated the similar value proposition that Raymond James offers, and how well it meshed with what our long-term philosophy is at Provenance.”

Scott Curtis, president of RJFS, said Raymond James is pleased to welcome the new team. “These experienced advisors and associates have demonstrated a long-standing commitment to putting their clients’ interests first and providing excellent client service, consistent with the culture and priorities at Raymond James,” Curtis said in a statement. “Their decision to affiliate with us reflects our focus on attracting and retaining the very best teams and advisors in the industry, particularly those who appreciate the benefits of independence."
