Jefferies Expands Singapore Office

Jefferies & Co. announced that three senior professionals are joining its Singapore office, where they will be part of the firm's emerging-markets group.

Lance Heatley will relocate from London to Singapore. He will serve as a managing director in charge of emerging-markets sales and trading operations in Asia. Heatley joined Jefferies a year ago and previously spent 10 years at Bear Stearns as a managing director on the emerging-markets fixed income trading team. He has also worked in the emerging-markets derivatives groups at Smith Barney and Merrill Lynch.

In addition, Jefferies hired Jay Lee and Jeremy Lee as senior vice presidents from Knight Libertas and Royal Bank of Scotland, respectively. They will work with Asian clients on sales of emerging-markets debt.

Jefferies has been actively growing its global fixed-income platform. The firm's fixed-income group now includes over 450 professionals, including about 30 sales and trading professionals who specialize in emerging markets in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
