Jobs Report, Business Outlook Report Lift Stocks

Investors pushed stocks higher for the first time this week Thursday after an initial jobless claims report checked in at a three-and-a-half week low and the Philadelphia’s Fed’s Business Outlook for December came in with a 10.3 reading – dramatically higher than the 4 score most economists had predicted.

The Dow Jones Industrial average moved up 45 points to close at 11,868.81 while the Nasdaq and S&P 500 rose 2 points and 4 points, respectively.

However, all three indices lost ground in late trading as investors digested the news and kept a weary eye on the ongoing Eurozone debt quandary.
