Morgan Creek Adds Investment Acumen

Morgan Creek Capital Management is tapping into the investment expertise of Daniel Kingston who has joined the firm as a member of its Investment Committee.

Kingston, who has more than 25 years of experience in the institutional investing space, will work alongside Mark Yusko, CIO at the Chapel Hill, N.C.-based firm.

According to a July 23 statement, the duo, with the assistance of Morgan Creek’s investment team, will evaluate investments and asset managers across all asset classes. Kingston has experience in the public equity, private equity, venture capital, real assets, alternative investments and fixed-income sectors.

His resume includes a stint at Vulcan Capital where he was responsible for the portfolio’s strategic and tactical asset allocation and manager selection. Vulcan Capital is the investment vehicle for Microsoft founder Paul Allen. He has also served as the CIO at the Kauffman Foundation, and spent 13 years at the Stanford Management Company.

Morgan Creek has approximately $8 billion in assets, its statement notes. The firm applies an endowment style of investing to its client’s portfolios, which includes exposure equities, fixed-income, hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and venture capital.
