Axa Equitable Life Insurance Co. announced it promoted four executives. The New York-based unit of Axa Group named Andrew McMahon president of its financial protection and wealth management business; James Shepherdson as president of its retirement savings business; and Richard V. Silver as chief administrative officer and chief legal officer.

McMahon will also continue to run Axa Advisors.

Axa Equitable also named all three executives, along with its chief financial officer, Richard Dziadzio,  senior executive vice presidents, senior executive vice presidents.

The Investment Management Consultants Association announced that John Graznow, the managing director of investments at Wells Fargo Advisors, just began a two-year term as the organization’s president.

The organization also announced it named John Nersesian, the managing director of wealth management services at Nuveen Investments, its vice president; Elizabeth Piper Bach, the vice president and chief operating officer of the National Automobile Dealers Association Retirement Administrators, its treasurer; and Margaret M. Towle, the managing director of Greycourt Co., its secretary.

Also, the IMCA approved David Archer and Bruce B. Curwood as board members who will each serve two-year terms. Archer is a national director of sales for alternative investments and managed accounts for Schwab Advisor Services. Curwood is a director of investment strategy at Russell Investment Group in Toronto.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management announced it appointed Garret Alton and Timothy Goering managing directors of sales for Georgia and Florida, respectively.

Alton will be based in Atlanta and report to Dana Halberg, the Georgia chair, and Goering will be based in West Palm Beach, Fla, reporting to Craig Sutherland, president of the Southeast U.S. division for BNY Mellon Wealth Management, which is a unit of Bank of New York Mellon Corp.

Chris Leap, a certified financial planner, announced that he has launched Leap Wealth Management LLC, an independent registered investment advisory firm in Dallas.

Leap was a senior financial advisor at Minneapolis-based Ameriprise Financial Inc. He hired Melissa Cornell as a paraplanner. She had worked in operations at Kansas City, Mo.-based Van Kampen Merritt.

Andy Dulka was promoted to vice president of IT infrastructure and application maintenance at Allianz Life Insurance Co. He was chief investment officer of Allianz’s income management services division.

Bruce Richardson, has been appointed chief strategy officer of Atlanta-based software company Infor.
