People on the Move: Merrill Puts Courtois in Control of Trust and Wealth Structuring

Charles-Henry Courtois, a specialist in tax and estate planning, is used to pulling together details from various disciplines and creating plans for ultra high-net-worth clients.

Those skills will come in handy when he takes over as head of the international trust and wealth structuring business at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. [BAC]

The division consists of subsidiary businesses that serve wealthy families and specializes in inter-generational wealth transfer. Courtois, who joined the Merrill Lynch division in 2007, was responsible for trust and fiduciary products for Europe, Middle East and Asia, establishing trusts for ultra wealthy clients. He also managed Merrill’s relationship with Abacus Trust Co., the bank’s strategic partner for providing fiduciary services for non-financial assets.

Before joining Merrill Lynch, Courtois was head of tax and estate planning, as well as a trust administrator, at BNP Paribas.
