Foundation for Financial Planning Names New Board Members

The Foundation for Financial Planning has named four new members to its board of trustees.

The newly elected board members include Marjorie Fox, CEO of FJY Financial; Kacy Gott, director of wealth management at Aspiriant; Dan Moisand, principal and financial advisor at Moisand Fitzgerald Tamayo; and industry consultant Dale Van Scoyk.

“Collectively we have hit the jackpot with these individuals,” says foundation chair Elissa Buie. “The wealth of knowledge they will add to the board is immeasurable and we are looking forward to adding their experience and world’s view to an outstanding volunteer board of industry professionals.”

Fox is a partner and co-founder of FJY, a fee-only financial planning and investment management firm in Washington D.C. She received the Planner of the Year Award by the National Capital Area Chapter of the Financial Planning Association in 2009.

Aspirant’s Gott worked to create the firm’s three-year resident associate program is a recipient of the Financial Planning Association’s “Heart of Financial Planning” award.

Moisand is a past president of the Financial Planning Association and is a columnist for JFP & Financial Advisor.

Van Scoyk has served as a consultant to numerous industry organizations including Sudden Money Institute, FINRA and Wealth Advisor Publishing.

These newly elected trustees will be charged with expanding the foundation’s mission of helping people take control of their financial lives by connecting the financial planning community with people in need.

“As we advance the work of pro bono financial planning, I am continuously amazed at the depth of commitment that we receive from the Foundation’s Board of Trustees,” says Jim Peniston, executive director of the Foundation for Financial Planning. “We are extremely fortunate that industry leaders are committed to providing pro bono advice to those who generally would not have access, such as military members and veterans, victims of disasters, low- to moderate-income families and so many others.”
