RBC Names New Lead for International Wealth Unit

RBC Wealth Management is adding new talent to the top executive team of its U.S.-based unit. Only days following Kevin Fairs’ appointment to head RBC’s New York Private Banking and Transnational Strategy, the firm announced that Mary Sumners would lead its International Wealth-USA group.

International Wealth-USA has been the fastest growing business within RBC’s U.S. Wealth Management segment since 2010, according to the firm. As the unit’s leader, Sumners will oversee management products, services and advice to high-net-worth clients from the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean.

“I am pleased to welcome Mary to my leadership team,” John Taft, CEO of RBC Wealth Management-U.S., said in a statement. “Her longevity and diverse experience makes her uniquely qualified to lead International Wealth as we continue to grow our international private banking and advisory businesses.”

Sunmers has worked at RBC since 1988, and was previously head of Investments-Asia.
