$200M UBS Team Joins RBC

A UBS advisor team managing about $200 million in client assets left the wirehouse to join RBC Wealth Management.

The team, known as the Winkler Group, generated about $1.3 million in annual production. They join RBC in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. They report to Greg Hornok, Plano branch director.

The team consists of advisors James Winkler and Lauren Johnson and also client associate Randi Richardson.

Winkler, who has 34 years of industry experience, had been with UBS since 1988, according to FINRA records. Johnson joined UBS in 2003.

Earlier this month, RBC said it had recruited a team managing $185 million in client assets. Advisors Katherine Traver and Michael Gardner joined the Canadian-owned firm in Manchester Village, Vermont.

Earlier this month, Royal Bank of Canada also announced that it would acquire City National Corporation for approximately $5.4 billion. City National, a Los Angeles-based bank, serves high-net-worth individuals and owns Convergent Wealth Advisors, an $8 billion-plus wealth management firm based in Washington.
