Stocks Roughed Up Again

The Dow Jones Industrial Average tumbled another 160.83 points to stagger home at 12,419.86 Wednesday as investors resumed selling after a one-day reprieve.

The Nasdaq plunged 33.63 points to finish at 2,837.36 while the S&P 500 shaved off 19.10 points to end at 1,313.32.

In economic news, the National Association of Realtors reported that pending home sales fell 5.5% in April to a four-month low, a serious disappointment to most economists who had predicted a slight (0.1%) gain for the month.
