U.S. Trust Bolsters Staff of Private Client Advisors

U.S. Trust, Bank of America’s private wealth management business, is bolstering its staff of private client advisors, the foot soldiers in delivering wealth management programs to the firm’s high-net-worth clients. Over the last two months, U.S. Trust hired five such advisors, bringing the total number of new private client advisors hired this year to 35.

Two of the five most recent new advisors—Allison Taff, formerly with Silver Bridge, and Norbert Unger, formerly with Morgan Stanley—joined the Boston office. Caryn Rahill joined the Princeton, N.J., office, from Sovereign Bank; Basil Barouki joined the office in Walnut Creek, Calif., from Daiichi Sankyo; and Andrew Crofton joined the team in Melville, N.Y.

Private client advisors work with high-net-worth individuals and their families as well as business owners, corporate executives, private foundations and endowments, a spokesperson for U.S. Trust said in an e-mail.

U.S. Trust also hired three people to fill positions that had been open. In Boston, the firm hired Pooja Shankar, formerly with PNC Bank, as a private client manager. Shankar facilitates the day-to-day delivery of U.S. Trust’s products and services and is the primary point of contact and service provider for high-net-worth clients.

In Portland, Ore., Amelia Health joined as a senior trust advisor. She uses her experience in the administration of fiduciary accounts to provide advice and guidance to private clients. Heath previously worked at law firm Davis Wright Tremaine LLP.

Douglas Moffit joined U.S. Trust as a regional investment executive in New York City. Moffit, who was previously with Geneve Corp., manages a team of more than 40 portfolio managers in the New York area, U.S. Trust said.
