Wealth Consulting Group Targets Athletes With Former MLB Trainer

The Wealth Consulting Group, an affiliate of Strategic Wealth Associates, announced it has hired former Major League Baseball athletic trainer Stephen Sayles as a registered representative.

He will work with the firm’s managing partner to expand its presence within the professional sports community and assist those in need of proper financial planning.

Based at the firm’s Las Vegas, office, Sayles will be responsible for networking and events, relationship management and new client marketing and acquisition.

““Stephen possesses the unique ability to translate comprehensive financial advice into simple, easy to understand conversation points that make even the most novice investors feel comfortable,” Jimmy Lee, managing partner at WCG said in a statement. “I’m extremely proud and honored to have him as a colleague to help further build the most dynamic sports and entertainment division in our market.”

Before joining WCG, Sayles spent 13 years as an athletic trainer with MLB’s Oakland Athletics. Prior to that, he spent 15 years as athletic trainer for the San Diego Padres' minor league affiliates.

“Financial planning isn’t too far removed from personal fitness and wellness. Both take time, dedication and the interest to learn and the dedication to practice for an entire lifetime,” says Sayles. “ I’ve seen firsthand how easily money can be mismanaged and my goal is to make a difference for as many athletes as possible, given their careers are short and they need sound financial advice.”
