Rozanne M. Andersen is the CEO and General Counsel for ACA International, The Association of Credit and Collection Professionals. She is a graduate of the William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota, and is now in her 25th year of practice.Andersen, who has been with ACA International for more than 14 years, is a nationally recognized speaker and published author on such topics as: The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act; The Fair Credit Reporting Act; Data Privacy; The outsourcing of government contracts and the collection of income taxes; The Gramm Leach Bliley Act; The Telephone Consumer Protection Act; The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); and Industry specific compliance requirements.She has successfully represented the industry’s perspective in each of these areas through her advocacy work in Washington, D.C. and before state regulatory bodies.Andersen was named by Minnesota Lawyer magazine as Attorney of the Year for 2004 for excellence in providing in-house legal services. In a February 2007 cover story, and again in 2008, Collections & Credit Risk magazine profiled Andersen as one of the "5 women you should know" who are having a positive impact on the collection and debt-buying industry. In 2009, she was honored by Collections & Credit Risk as an “Industry Champion” for her “hard work to improve the intertwined worlds of collections, credit and debt buying.”In addition, Andersen was also invited to speak on both the opening and closing panel at the Federal Trade Commission’s October 2007 debt collection workshop in Washington, D.C., as a representative of the credit and collection industry. She is regularly asked by the FTC and other federal and state government regulators, legislators and policy makers to submit formal comments, give testimony and serve on expert panels regarding topics related to the credit and collection industry.Andersen is routinely quoted and featured by media organizations including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, CNN, ABC News, NBC News, Fox News Channel and others.She is a Certified Association Executive, a certification offered to qualified individuals by the American Society Association of Executives. Andersen is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Hennepin County Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in the state of Minnesota.
