Renée D. Brown
Chief Marketing Officer, Retail Financial Services, TIAA

As the Chief Marketing Officer for Retail Financial Services, Renee Brown is responsible for leading Marketing and Communications strategy and execution for the division’s on-going aggressive growth; as well as TIAA’s retail brand and acquiring, deepening relationships and retaining individual clients.

Her team is responsible for creating and managing TIAA's value proposition for targeted prospects and the retail offering for TIAA’s retirement plan participants, including positioning the firm and its products and services in the market based on customer needs, behaviors and insights; communicating key messages across all channels and developing strategies to deepen client relationships.

Renee has more than 25 years of marketing, media and leadership experience. Prior to joining TIAA, she led Marketing for numerous divisions of Wells Fargo and Wachovia for 20 years, from the Community Bank to Wealth, Social Media, Brand Management and Business. Before joining Wells Fargo, Brown was a marketing leader at two community banks in Louisiana and worked in radio for eight years.

Brown holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Communication Theory from Louisiana State University, where she was named to Phi Beta Kappa.

In her personal time, Brown volunteers with several community non-profit organizations, including serving as a long-time Board Member of the Carolina’s American Red Cross and a Co-Chair of the Tiffany Circle. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Out and Equal Workplace Advocates and is also the Board of Trustees Chair for Davidson Day School.

Renee is married, has a 14-year old daughter, and lives in Cornelius, North Carolina.
