Martin Small
Martin Small, Managing Director, is Head of BlackRock's U.S. Wealth Advisory business. He is responsible for leading BlackRock's relationships with wealth management firms and platforms, for distributing BlackRock's alpha-seeking and iShares investment capabilities and for the adoption of BlackRock's portfolio construction and digital wealth technologies to financial advisors. He is a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee and the Americas Executive Committee.

Prior to his appointment to lead BlackRock's U.S. Wealth Advisory business, Martin served as BlackRock's Head of U.S. and Canada iShares, He was responsible for leading the U.S. and Canada ETF businesses across sales and marketing, product and capital markets.

From 2008-2014, Mr. Small helped establish, and served in global and regional leadership roles for, the Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) Group in BlackRock Solutions. The team delivers portfolio construction, asset management and risk & regulatory advisory services to public and private institutions. He also served as a member of the BlackRock Solutions/Aladdin Operating Committee.

Mr. Small joined BlackRock in 2006 as a member of the Legal & Compliance Department. Prior to joining BlackRock, Martin was a capital markets, investment management and transactional Associate with the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. He started his career as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Richard Owen, U.S. District Judge in the Southern District of New York.

Mr. Small earned a B.A. degree from Brown University and a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law.
