    Most of the licensed CFP's particularly from the 1980's era started as commission sales types within the major wirehouses or insurance institutions. all had to "dial for dollars". Over time we all found your best accounts were those that shared your same values. Those clients that shared and advisors values became the best source for referrals. Over time all of us found that as we progressed we were exposed to a more advanced client need. A CFP education followed. The same metrics still apply.
