Executive Moves

Citadel Hires Morgan's Foreign Exchange Chief

Citadel Investment Group has hired Patrick Edsparr to be its European CEO and global head of fixed income.

Edsparr comes to the hedge fund after serving on JPMorgan's executive committee and serving as head of the bank's foreign exchange, fixed income, proprietary trading and principal investment business. He had worked for JPMorgan since 1996.

Edsparr will head the London office, starting in July.

As we create opportunities to expand our business on a global scale, our first priority is building high-performance teams and attracting top talent from across the industry, said Citadel founder and CEO Kenneth Griffin.

Citadel currently manages more than $20 billion in assets.

Prudential Hires Former FBI Counterterror Expert

Prudential Financial has named former Federal Bureau of Investigation Assistant Director Joseph Bill, Jr. as vice president of global security. He will report to Chief Security Officer Lori Hennon-Bell, and be responsible for domestic and international security and asset protection.

"We're extremely pleased to welcome Joseph to Prudential's security team, said Joyce Leibowitz, senior vice president of shared services. His experience and insight into international security further strengthens our ability to uphold the safety and security of our employees and stakeholders around the world.

During his 30-year career at the FBI, Billy served in a number of positions with the foreign counterintelligence program, the FBI/New York City Police Department's joint terrorism task force and most recently as assistant director in charge of the counterterrorism division in Washington, D.C.

Prudential is dedicated to protecting the company's people and its assets, and Joseph's impressive background and experience will help ensure that we can take our services to the next level, said Hennon-Bell.

Citi Names Havens Investment Banking Head

Citigroup has named John Havens as its new head of investment banking and alternative investments group.

Havens previously worked with Citi CEO Vikram Pandit at Morgan Stanley.

Havens move is the latest in a number of changes that Pandit has made since taking over for Charles Prince in December.

Previous investment banking co-head Michael Klein will move to Citigroup's Park Avenue headquarters, where he will be the chairman of Citigroup's institutional client group.

By putting the right talent in the right places, we are enhancing Citi's ability to meet the needs of our institutional clients, Pandit said.

Rampart Names Davis VP

Rampart Investment Management has named R. Dino Davis vice president and product specialist. Davis will oversee Rampart's marketing and business development program for the institutional and tax-exempt space. Dino's extensive background in helping several leading investment firms broaden their client base made him the ideal selection for this important position, said Ronald Egalka, president and CEO. As our firm continues to expand its footprint worldwide, he will play a key role in delivering our option programs to an expanding client portfolio. Davis has more than 13 years of experience in product management, previously serving as investment director for non-U.S. equities for Pyramis Global Advisors, the institutional investment arm of Fidelity Investments. He also worked for State Street Management and Research, Wellington and The Boston Group.
