Doberman comes to the firm from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where she was managing director of the legal and compliance department. Previously, she was managing director and general counsel, Americas, with UBS Global Asset Management, general counsel of Aeltus Investment Management and assistant chief counsel in the division of investment management at the SEC.

"We're pleased that as our firm grows, we are able to add some of the best talent in the industry to our leadership team," Sapir said. "Amy is a highly respected and accomplished professional with over 20 years of legal and compliance experience. Amy's experience includes senior legal positions at leading asset management firms, as well as nearly seven years at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She's also been active with the Investment Company Institute, including chairing the annual Mutual Funds and Investment Management Conference for the past two years."

Klimek Joins Alger as VP, Director of Regional Sales

Matthew Klimek has joined Fred Alger Management as vice president, director of regional marketing associates, responsible for the internal sales force and for developing relationships with financial advisers across the country.

Klimek's 15 years of experience include, most recently, his position as supervisor of internal sales at Franklin Templeton Distributors. Prior to that, he was director of financial services at Farmers Financial and Insurance Group.

"We are pleased to have Matt join our organization," said Liz Clapp, senior vice president and national sales manager. "His extensive experience leading a sales team will be invaluable to us as we continue to refine our internal sales organization."

Money Institute Broadens Board by Three Members

The Money Management Institute has expanded the number of seats on its board of governors to complement the industry representation on the board. Ron Fiske, executive vice president at Fidelity Investments, David Lindenbaum, vice president of managed accounts at Charles Schwab, and Joseph Schultz, vice president and director of key accounts for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, are now on the MMI board.

Fiske has held a number of leadership positions at brokerage firms, investment firms and bank trusts. Lindenbaum has led product development and management of client billing, front-end proposal systems, performance reporting, due diligence, asset allocation, research and portfolio accounting. Schultz has held distribution leadership positions at broker/dealers, bank wealth management units and independent advisers.

"These new board members bring a wealth of experience and a unique outlook to our existing team," said Charles Widger, chairman of the MMI board of governors and chief executive officer of Brinker Capital. "Each of these firms represented is a leader in its market segment, and MMI will benefit from the expanded perspective. As we address issues key to our evolving industry, we will draw upon the collective knowledge of our board."
