Executive Moves

SEC Names Storch New Enforcement Executive

The Securities and Exchange Commission has tapped Adam Storch to be the managing executive of the newly created Division of Enforcement.

Acting as the chief operating officer, Storch will be responsible for the budget, information technology and administrative services, as well as project management and infrastructure workflow. He reports to Robert Khuzami, director of the division.

"Adam's skill in technology systems, workflow process and project management will greatly benefit the division, including in the critical areas of the distribution of fair funds to harmed investors and the processing and analysis of complaints, tips, and referrals," Khuzami said. "He will help to make us more efficient and nimble and permit us to put more of our investigators on the front lines to detect and stop fraud."

Storch joins the SEC from Goldman Sachs, where he was vice president of the firm's business intelligence group. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he was a senior consultant at Deloitte & Touche.

He received his MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and his B.S. in business administration from SUNY Buffalo School of Management.

Macbeth Becomes GM of DTCC Trade Warehouse

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. has hired Stewart Macbeth, a recognized expert in the over-the-counter derivatives market, as managing director, DTCC, and general manager of the trade information warehouse, the only central repository and post-trade processing infrastructure for OTC credit derivatives contracts. Based in London, he reports to Peter Axilrod, managing director of DTCC business development.

Macbeth was most recently managing director, global head of operations, risk and business architecture at UBS. Before that, he was with the financial services practice at KPMG.

"Having someone with Stewart's extraordinary experience and extensive knowledge of this complex market positions us well to expand the benefits of DTCC's central repository with services for credit default swaps and to determine the extendibility of the warehouse to other OTC derivative asset classes," said Michael Bodson, executive managing director at DTCC.
