Citi Names Sawhney Global Head of Funds

Citigroup has hired Sanjiv Sawhney as global head of fund services, a new position. He was previously head of fund services operations at JP Morgan and is returning to Citi, where he began his career and served for 15 years.

In this new role, Sawhney will provide worldwide leadership for Citi's hedge fund, private equity and mutual fund administration businesses, reporting to Neeraj Sahai, global head of Citi's securities and fund services.

"We are very pleased that Sanjiv is rejoining Citi in this key leadership role," Sahai said. "His extensive industry expertise and global experience will be instrumental as our fund clients cross borders and jurisdictions to explore attractive opportunities worldwide."

Sajai added: "Increasingly, investment management firms, as a result of the financial crisis, are asking us to support their needs for increased risk mitigation and reduced infrastructure costs, while helping them launch expanded product offerings using global distribution channels. Citi is uniquely suited to meet this challenge, and Sanjiv has the expertise to strategically guide our initiative in the fund services space."

Yepes Heads N.A. Sales For Man Investments

Man Investments has appointed 20-year financial services veteran George Yepes as managing director, North American sales and relationship management. He joins the hedge fund company in this new position from Gottex Fund Management, where, for the past six years, he was managing director, head of North American distribution and client service.

The appointment underscores Man's continuing commitment to the North American institutional market; last October, another industry sales veteran, John Barbo, joined the company to lead the U.S. private banking and financial intermediary business.

"Man's highly experienced investment team and its corporate strength make it a formidable competitor in today's fast-evolving market," Yepes said. "I am excited to be part of Man's outstanding global team, which is uniquely qualified to address hedge fund investors' changing needs."
