McCarthy Heads Citi ETF Investor Services Team

Citi has established an investor services team specializing in exchange-traded funds, naming Jeffrey McCarthy global ETF product head, securities and fund services. In this role, McCarthy is responsible for product innovation and market development and will coordinate the delivery of end-to-end servicing solutions across trading, distribution and administration for the global ETF market.

McCarthy comes from Brown Brothers Harriman, where he was global ETF product manager.

"With its global network and reach, Citi is uniquely positioned to help promote ETF product innovation and distribution in domestic and international markets," said Neeraj Sahai, global head of Citi's securities and fund services. "Jeff's extensive market experience and product expertise will complement Citi's emerging market capabilities and help enable our asset manager clients launch new ETF products on a comprehensive basis."

DST Retirement Solutions Hires LoMedico as CIO

Frank LoMedico has joined DST Retirement Solutions as a division vice president and chief information officer. In his new role, LoMedico will be responsible for developing the technology strategy to grow DST's business and develop new products and capabilities, including retirement income processing.

He recently served as CIO of Prudential's retirement business, where he led more than 500 technology professionals and was responsible for the seamless integration of acquisitions representing the conversion of approximately 1.5 million participant accounts. He also led the development of the technology supporting Prudential's retirement income offering.

For the past 18 months, LoMedico has worked with DST as a strategic consultant.

In another senior-level move, Jane Brennan has taken on the role of chief operating officer, responsible for supporting recordkeeping and administration, as well as application service provider client relationships.

Joe Rathgeb, who joined DST as division vice president in early 2009, will now take on the additional responsibilities of chief development officer. He will coordinate efforts in sales, product development, public relations, marketing, communications, pricing, market research and competitive analysis.

Another recent new hire is Raoul Manchand, who joins sister company Boston Financial as vice president of retirement marketing, dedicated to the DST Retirement Solutions business. Manchand comes from Fidelity and has deep industry experience in both retirement marketing and retirement regulatory policy development.

Curian Names Twomey Senior VP of Operations

Curian Capital has named Eamon Twomey senior vice president of its clearing firm, Curian Clearing. Before joining Curian in 2002, he was with Jackson National Life Insurance, where he was responsible for managing strategic initiatives within the operations group. In his hew role, Twomey will report to Michael Bell, president and chief executive officer of Curian. "Over the past year, Curian has launched several new platform enhancements and asset management strategies that not only generated great interest among our advisers, but also created new operational demands," Bell said. "Eamon's leadership will allow Curian to navigate [further] growth."
