NICSA Taps Woodall As New Chairman

NICSA has elected Michael J. Woodall, managing director of Putnam Investments' Mutual Fund Shareholder Services, as its new chairman.

The announcement was made last week at NICSA's General Membership Meeting at the Boston Harvard Club's downtown offices, along with several other board appointments.

"We have a tremendous opportunity to even further strengthen the presence and role that NICSA plays in championing the operational and service excellence of our industry, and I look forward to working with the staff and board toward that end," Woodall said.

He has served on NICSA's board of directors since 2005 and replaces outgoing Board Chair Maureen Leary-Jago, president, MFS Service Center, MFS Investments.

Nimish S. Bhatt, senior vice president and director of operations at Calamos Investments, was elected vice chairman. Bhatt also serves as chief financial officer for the Calamos Family of Funds and as an officer of Calamos Asset Management Inc.

Also named to the board are Anmarie Ciccolo, chief compliance officer and senior vice president of Fidelity Investment's Transfer Agent; Robert G. Groth, head of SEI's Investment Management Services business in the Western U.S.; and James M. Keenan, senior vice president and department head in State Street Bank & Trust's investment services area.

Bessemer Hires Rossmiller To Head Fixed Income

David Rossmiller will lead the bond investment division at wealth and investment management advisory firm Bessemer Trust.

Rossmiller has signed on as head of fixed-income at the New York-based shop. He will report directly to Bessemer Trust CIO Marc Stern, who said: "David has more than two decades of investment experience and has successfully led global fixed-income teams and set overall strategies at major institutions. We expect him to make significant contributions to our investment platform and continue the strong results that have distinguished our fixed-income team."

His responsibilities will include overseeing fixed-income strategy, implementation and communication. Additionally, he will be a member of the firm's investment policy and strategy committee. Rossmiller will work closely with Managing Director, Portfolio Manager and former Head of Fixed Income Harold Woolley and Bruce Whiteford, managing director and portfolio manager.

The firm currently oversees more than $55 billion in assets for its high-net-worth, foundation and endowment clients.

Before taking on his new role at Bessemer Trust, Rossmiller worked as global head of fixed income for Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management. Earlier in his career, he was a VP in charge of international fixed-income at Travelers Investment Management Co.

Wells Fargo Hires for Institutional Banking Group

As Wells Fargo continues the expansion of its municipal credit strategy, the financial services firm has turned to Nancy Feldman and Don Lipkin to help "provide credit strategy and analysis to issuers and investors," the company said.

Within Wells Fargo's government and institutional banking (GIB) division, Feldman, a former director of New Jersey Treasury Department's office of public finance, is slated to focus her efforts on municipal issuers and manage credit ratings, bonds structure and execution options, a May 20 press release said.

Additionally, Lipkin, a former managing director of senior research and head of fixed-income research at U.S. Trust/Bank of America Private Wealth Management, will offer credit and market analytical reports to "top institutional investors" and support "flow trading," the statement said.

Both new appointments will be based in New York.
