Integrity Names Kamies, Norris Marketing Directors

Integrity Mutual Funds has hired Mark J. Kamies to market its funds in the Kansas and Missouri areas and Richard Norris to serve Arizona. Each will hold the title of regional director of Integrity Funds Distributor, the firm's distribution arm.

Previously a financial consultant and business development officer with Investment Professionals Inc., Kamies is well-versed in the Kansas and Missouri area. Before his job at IPI, he worked as a financial consultant for Kansas-based First National Bank. He has also been a financial consultant for Iowa-based U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray.

Logue Replaces Spina as State Street CEO, Chairman

David A. Spina, chairman and CEO of State Street Corp., has retired and will be replaced by Ronald E. Logue.

Spina, who had been with the company since 1969, retired mostly due to health reasons. "My heart surgery in May of 2003 prompted me to reassess my personal priorities," Spina said. "Choosing to retire now has been an extremely difficult decision for me, but I am confident that I am leaving the company at a very good time."

Spina guided State Street through its largest-ever acquisition, that of Deutsche Bank's Global Securities Services. During his tenure, the company eclipsed the $1 trillion mark in assets under management.

"Having worked closely with David for many years, I have been deeply involved in the development of our business strategy and vision for State Street's future," said Logue, who has been with the firm since 1990 and has served as president the past four years.

ICON Selects Schoffman For Chief Compliance Post

ICON Advisers has complied with new Securities and Exchange Commission regulations in a profound way. Not only did the company hire a new chief compliance officer in Carrie M. Schoffman, but it hired her away from the SEC itself. Schoffman will serve as CCO of both ICON Advisors and ICON Funds.

Schoffman, a CPA with experience in accounting and financial advisement, had been working as an examiner for the SEC. She previously was a manager with PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Putnam's Oristaglio Named Sole Head of Investments

Putnam Investments is continuing its management restructuring with the naming of Steve Oristaglio as sole head of investments. Oristaglio, a six-year Putnam vet, had been the co-head of investments since 2002 alongside current CEO Ed Haldeman. He has 24 years of industry experience. The company also named a deputy head of investments, promoting Kevin Cronin, who had been CIO and managing director. In June, the firm announced the departure of John Brown, senior managing director and head of institutional management. As a result, Rich Monaghan, head of retail sales, and John Boneparth, institutional sales head, divvied up their existing responsibilities as well as Brown's in an effort to restructure those management functions.
