Third Avenue Taps Dugan As New Financial Chief

Third Avenue Management has named former Arthur Andersen partner Vincent J. Dugan as its new COO and CFO.

Dugan has been involved with Third Avenue from afar, as he used to audit some of the firm's affiliates. According to Third Avenue CEO David M. Barse, Dugan's familiarity with the company made him a natural fit.

"Vincent's expertise in the regulations and issues that affect asset management companies will further strengthen our executive management team," Barse said.

Before joining Arthur Andersen in 1987, Dugan worked as a partner for Ernst & Young's financial services practice. The Rider University graduate has served 17 years in auditing, accounting and business advising fields. A certified public accountant and treasurer of the Staten Island Academy, the independent college prep school, Dugan said he is "excited to be joining the experienced and innovative team at Third Avenue Management to help lead future growth and success."
