Executive Moves

New York Life Promotes Salama to Retirement Chief

New York Life Investment Management has promoted Don Salama to head its NYLIM Retirement Plan Services unit. Salama, who will maintain the title of senior managing director, previously oversaw sales, marketing and product development. Salama replaces Barry Schub, executive vice president, who has assumed additional responsibilities at the firm.

Salama has worked in the retirement plan industry for 20 years, including as a manager at Hartford Financial Services and Vanguard.

"Don has made many notable sales and marketing contributions to Retirement Plan Services and to the corporation as a whole," Schub said. "This promotion and additional responsibility are in recognition of Don's many successes."

Those reporting to Salama now include: Tom Clough, senior managing director responsible for mid- and large-size markets; Joe Henehan, managing director and chief financial officer; Sam Mancino, managing director of small plan business; Jeff Keller, managing director of sales strategy and marketing; Mark Strazzeri, managing director of adviser and consultant sales; John Santaguida, director of Taft-Hartley sales; and Steven Dorval, director and head of investment services.

Mock Recruited to Manage Touchstone Sales Desk

Touchstone Investments has promoted Mary Mock to sales desk manager, in charge of the internal sales team. She has 14 years of human resource management experience, most recently as director of recruiting for Western & Southern Financial Group, Touchstone's parent company. Before that, she was a consultant to public accounting and management consulting firm VonLehman and worked on staff at market research firm Burke.

"Mary's diverse background will help strengthen the capabilities of our existing sales force, as well as attract new talent for Touchstone," said Jim Grifo, Touchstone president. "We're thrilled to welcome her to our team."

SEC Compliance Hires Hogan as Senior Consultant

SEC Compliance Consultants has hired Victoria G. Hogan, a former examiner and staff accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission for six years, as senior compliance consultant. In this position, Hogan will assist investment advisors with their compliance programs and risk management, and help them prepare for regulatory examinations.

"Complying with the evolving and expansive securities laws can not only be challenging but often overwhelming for a firm," Hogan noted. "As an SEC examiner, I saw firms struggle to comply with the requirements of these laws. I look forward to using the knowledge I cultivated as an SEC examiner to help SEC Compliance Consultants' clients better understand these requirements and develop effective solutions to comply with the laws."

Janaya Moscony, founder and president of the firm, said: "The addition of Victoria to the team will allow us to provide expanded services to the investment company market in 2007. One example of this would be our focus on providing guidance to clients by providing risk assessment services and guidance in the area of forensic testing."
