Fidelity partially reopens Small-Cap Stock Fund

Fidelity announced that it is reopening its Small Cap Stock Fund to existing investors. The fund was closed May 14 after assets grew to nearly $765 million in its first two months of operation. Since then, the fund's assets have declined to $500 million because of drops in small-cap stock prices. The Fidelity Small Cap Fund has declined 19.4 percent since its inception on March 12. In the same period, the Russell 2000 Index declined 14.5 percent.
